Boy, have I been gone for a while! I thought I’d let people know what I’ve been up to.
I went back to work, nursing, full time. I cuts in on my writing but my book Distortions is done and on a final edit from Teri Valentine. She was my Novel class instructor and she’s taught me a lot.
If anyone is taking a class with Writer’s Digest and your class in novel writing—take the class that she teaches. It will be worth it. I promise you that.
My next step with my book is a hard one. I really haven’t decided what and when.
Time will tell.
Stick around and I’ll let you in on my decision making.
Have a great day
Well, I have finished my Advanced Novel Writing class. It was very good and educational. I thought I knew what show not tell was…. but Terri Valentine, author, taught me I wasn’t as good as I thought I was. LOL. Distortions is done….. editing is close to done….. and now the business of writing begins in earnest. it can be fun and I hope to make it fun.
On a personal note. in the near future I will be moving to the Midwest. I will continue my writing but I am going back to nursing PRN for extra money. Just like Eden in Relative Crude and the new Relative Justice, I have to fall back on nursing for awhile.
It’s good and a new adventure.
Until next time……………………………
Sorry I haven’t been blogging but it’s been pretty busy around this house. I’m down to my last edit of my current book. Waiting with anticipation to hear how it went.
On the personal front….
We put our house up for sale a little early because we know the market is sluggish. Well, it was on the market all of 2 days before we got a bid. I guess the move was meant to be. it was a real shocker! Of course, we don’t have the money in hand, but we are confident that everything will go well.
With the move ahead of us……. lots to do, but never, I mean never, will I not continue to write.
Until next time…………………………………
I start sending my query letters out this weekend. Distortions is still being polished but by the time I get anybody wanting to see more it will be done.
I’ve realized that every time you read your manuscript you can change something! Changing isn’t always good.
well, I hope everyone’s has their taxes done. If not, good luck……
Until next time………………….
The weather is great. The sun is out. The computer is warmed up. And, the day is going to be a writing day. Maybe, today will be more than 5 hours. So….
Been going thru some personal struggles lately, so I haven’t been blogging like I should. Those that follow me, I’m sorry. But, I truly believe that struggles make us better writers. I only hope so!
Distortions is complete, editing is almost done, and Relative Justice is pinching my creative consciousness. It feels good.
Until next time…..
It’s been awhile since I’ve been on the site. Sorry about that. Easter, ya know.
Well, it’s time to start the business of writing. Finding an agent. I know that’s hard and I don’t blame an agent for wanting a known quantity. That’s not me!!
I have taken classes on writing the best query letter. I have taken the novel class that has made Distortions a better prepared book than my first… at least I think so!
Finding that agent who is willing to take a leap of faith will be daunting, but I’m up to the challenge. Keep your fingers crossed that I find someone who doesn’t mind jumping.!!
Until next time……………….
That’s me! I have to admit that it’s a little hard to do much writing this week. It’s Spring Break and my oldest granddaughter is home. It’s Grandma time mostly.
I still sneak a little writing in and I am waiting for my 3rd assignment to be evaluated.
It’s kinda funny. This past weekend I did some marketing of Relative Crude. I hoped to see some movement on the sales side…. Oh, well. Maybe when Distortions comes out, those that received my postcard about my first book will remember my name and pick it up. I think the premise will catch the eye of the mystery reader….. mystery or thriller…..
Well, until next time………………………..
